BMW
Recieved 18th Nov 2004 via email, BMW 1 series
Hi Michael,
just thought I'd drop you a mail to say how things are going with the car. So far, no problems whatsoever; well, not true actually - if I continue driving it the way I have been, I'll loose my license!
Power delivery is very smooth, and it definitely revs longer - in fact, it's much more like a petrol engine at the top end. comparitively, on a twisty road, I think I could keep up with my Boxster S - would be left on the straights, but through the bends... all that torque wins ! And the car is superbly balanced.
Fuel consumption has dropped to 42mpg, but I've only been doing short journeys, so can't really comment upon that being the true average.
Once again, thanks for your hospitality on my visit to Chorley - it was good to see what really goes on in the tuning world!
Look forward to reading Victors article.

Philip Hunt, via Email, Monday June 14th 2004, BMW 330D
I called in last week and decided to go-ahead with yourselves fitting the unit to my BMW 330D. after a short while (approx 30 mins), my car was fitted with the unit and ready to go.I could not believe the instant response as soon as I accelerated, as, with most diesels, the turbo lag was obvious before fitting of the tunit.....to my amazement, this turbo-lag has been completely eliminated, giving my car instant acceleration. This was my main objective with this already powerful car, and after driving back home, I was totally convinced of the improvement both in economy and power. it feels as though i have had a completely new more powerful engine fitted, as the power range through the gearbox (auto) is smoother and about 30-40% quicker!!! to make matters even more immpressive, I have noticed approx. 12 mpg gain. this is a true reading on my on-board-computer, and I have now worked out that it will take me about 6-7 months of driving to "get-my-money-back" on this faultless unit! what more can I say. absolutely thrilled with the product and I would recommend it to everyone.

Received 28th August 2006 via email, Ford Mondeo TDCi 130bhp auto
Dear Mr Bromley
I recently purchased a TUNIT for my Mondeo 130bhp Automatic
station wagon. I noticed an improvement in performance,
smoothness and
fuel consumption immediately after fitting but it
was not until I did
the round trip to UK last week that I really saw
the difference. I drove
3500Km in seven days my average consumption was 6.5l
per 100 km,
previous trips gave 7.2l per 100 km an improvement
of 9.7%. The extra
power available was particularly noticeable when
climbing the quite
steep hills on the French Auto route resulting in
a much more relaxed
journey. I would like to congratulate you on a very
good product.

From Robert Beeton via email - 11th March 2004, Ford Focus TDCi 115
I've recently added a tunit V-CR to my Focus TDCI 115 and the results are truly satisfying. With the jumper set to the higest power setting my focus (already well run in) managed 148bhp (121 before) at 3800rpm and 223lb.ft of torque (190 before) at 2200 rpm on a dyno. 0 - 60 has been measured in the dry at 8.3 secs (2 secs quicker than standard) thanks to 7% ish longer gearing courtesy of 17.5" rims, taking 3 gears to do so.
Pulls impressively well from 1250 rpm, especially noticable in 4th and 5th gears.
I've backed the jumper off two settings and made do with slightly less power for now and fuel economy really is significantly higher thanks to the substantially stronger high gear pull. I was previously averaging 45mpg over a tank, mostly urban runs of 12 miles or less but including weekly motorway runs of 120 miles.
Motorway cruising is easier and smoother (I do not know why) And at 75 mph on good road a truly ridiculous figure of 69.0 mpg showed on my trip computer after 60 miles.
A few tanks of fuel later, and without paying too much attention to what my right foot is doing the car easily does 500+ miles on about 48 litres of diesel at about 52 mpg in mixed driving conditions, 7 mpg more than pre-tunit and 2.5 mpg more than ford say the focus on big hoops will do.
Jeep
Received 18th August 2006 via email, Jeep 2.8CRD
Dan,
Tunit arrived in good time and was very easy to fit, the small picture
helped a treat! On the first outing, with the dial still
set at 5, the
Jeep's MPG reading steadily rose and kept rising for about
150 miles or
so giving me about 5 miles per gallon extra.
With the dial set on at a lower number, would the fuel consumption
increase further? The 0-60 time is not of huge importance
to me as the
jeep is fairly quick for its size anyway!
Regards and thanks for your help again

Land Rover
From Ian via email - 8th March 2004, Land Rover Freelander TD4
Just a quick line about the Tunit VCR that I bought from you earlier this year. My car (Freelander TD4) has continued to perform brilliantly and in addition the MPG has increased. I always brim my car at refills to keep a check on the mileage (sad isnt it!). Since the Freelander was new I have averaged 37/38 overall. Since I fitted the Unit I have tried to drive more or less the same although sometimes the urge to use the extra power is just too great. There is definitely a noticeable difference in the economy and for the last two tankfulls I have averaged 41 mpg. Enough said. I am tempted to use the next step up on the VCR and may well do once the car has done more mileage. (still only 3500)
From John Buoy, via email 16/6/03, Range Rover 2.5 DSE
Tunit arrived on schedule and I fitted it straight away with a little help on the phone from your representative.
It is fantastic, every bit as good as you said. My notoriosly slow underpowered Range rover 2.5 DSE is now quicker than the V8 petrol Classic that I had before. I now await mpg figures which I can only assume will be lower than pre-tunit?
Thanks again for a wonderful product and service

Mazda
This comment from JW Scott about the Tunit V-CR
It is excellent in short. Although fitting took me a while, mainly due to Mazda`s securing of the ECU, apart from that the, manual for installation was very good
On start up I noticed a lack of smoke and a quick blip of the throttle confirmed the same(before slight puff on blip of throttle)
Right from the off you notice the increase in torque, from 1400 rpm it pulls like a train increasing asit does to 4000 rpm, in what ever gear you choose.(mine being 3rd, 4th and 5th) The engine revs superb for a diesel, tjough you don`t need to as the torque from 1400 rpm to 2500 rpm is quite sufficient. I should also point out that once fit the engine is now smoother and quieter than before. The following performance times are approx (argos stopwatch) 0-60 11 secs,30-50 mph in 3rd gear 5secs, 30-50 mph in 4th gear,4secs. Fuel consumption is about the same as before 45 mpg around town and 50 mpg on long motorway runs, all I might add at legal limits, but not pussy footing . Smoke which was apparent on hard acceleration before is hardly noticeable.
Thanks again yours faithfully J W Scott `From Diesel car owner last 20 years and diesel fitter past 48 years`.

Thanks for all the information. I now have a 3.2 DID complete with your
Tunit, which I ordered through my motor engineer. The difference
in performance, economy and engine flexibility is staggering.
An excellent

MG Rover
Received 24th July 2006 via email, MG ZT
Dear Laura,
Unfortunately I cannot receive Men and Motors, but fortunately I do have
my own Tunit device fitted to my MG ZT! and so together
with my American
car Hi-Fi system I can enjoy my own roadshow every
day! What can I say,
the V-CR Tunit device works exactly as advertised
(how many products can
you always say that about) and more. The engine now
operates in the way
the go faster looks and rear spoiler that were original
to the car
suggested it should. The pick up and acceleration
are nothing short of
phenomenal and the engine is turbine smooth and almost
silent whilst
cruising. The fuel consumption remains unaffected
and driven with
slightly less gusto is marginally better than before.
Thank you for bringing such a brilliant device to
market. A definite
must have for anyone with a turbo diesel who wishes
to exploit the
vehicles full potential at such a relatively low
cost witheasy
installation.
Best regards,
Colin
Nissan
Received October 2006 via email, Nissan Navara 2.5 DITD
Just a quick note to say how impressed I am with the Tunit I had fitted to my truck. On your recommendation I had the Tunit fitted at Car Media in Sudbury, Suffolk. All I can say is that they are a great bunch of guys, they are very knowledgeable and couldn't do enough to help. As for the effects of the Tunit, I'm most impressed, it has totally transformed the truck from a bit of a slug to a tyre-smokin' beasty!
Since the Tunit has been fitted, I've found I'm getting around a 7% improvement in fuel economy, which equates to an extra 40 miles per tankful.
So thank you for a very good product and service.

From Mr B Melling, Darwen, Lancashire 21/10/01, Nissan Terrano II
In August 2001 I had a Tunit II fitted by yourselves to my Nissan Terrano II. After driving for a couple of months I would like to say I am delighted with the improvement the unit has made. It is much more pleasent to drive with the increase in torque from low revs and throughout the rev range. The extra power is great.
Thank you very much. The lady on reception and your staff were very pleasent and helpful.
Yours Sincerly

Dear All at Tunit,
Thanks very much for your recent service on my purchase of Tunit for
my 406.
I must say that the help, assistance and service
from all of you has been first class and it has been a pleasure to deal
with you.
The true test came recently when I towed my caravan and awning to North Devon, where I noticed a vast improvement.
Thanks for all your help again.

Renault
Recieved 27th Oct 2004 via email, Renault Clio DCi 80
Hi There,
Thought you might like some feedback on the VCR tunit for the Clio:
Having parted with a significant wodge of cash for a VCR unit for my Clio DCi 80, I must admit that I was kind of expecting my buggy to turn into a hot-rod in sheeps clothing. With the unit fitted (5 minutes with a screwdriver and socket set), I choose the first setting to the left of centre for the little adjustment jumper on the unit. The result? 50-70mph acceleration reduced from 5 seconds to just 3 seconds. Forget about any other figures, this is the one that really counts as it decides how long you have to spend on the wrong side of the road when overtaking. In normal driving the power is kept well under control as the unit allows the car to be driven gently just as though it wasnt fitted but if you need to climb a hill in fifth, pull away in second, cruise at 70mph with a car full of concrete, the Tunit unit allows these tasks to be completed with great ease and alot less gear changing.
At 40mph, in fourth, the car is like a missile for passing any grandads on their eternal sunday morning drives, At 70mph in fifth, a gentle push on the gas takes you up to 90mph with ease. The car feels much more solid to drive and on windy roads as there is a lot more torque to pull the car around bends quite safely in fifth.
The downside? Now I have to take my girlfriend out to dinner once a month instead of once a year as the fuel economy has gone up from 55mpg to 62mpg. She doesnt miss a trick! Needless to say, we dont eat locally, further from home the better as I'm always happy to be the chauffeur provided its my car that we take!

From Keith Wilkinson 10/6/03, Renault Clio Dynamic dCi 80 - 12 month report
I started compiling this report to you in June, my Clio, together with it's Tunit, being 12 months old with 20,000 on the clock, but the sun kept shining so working outside took precedence over the computer. Here are some facts and figures on the cars perfomance.
Most of my driving is on country lanes and B roads with some town miles, this type of driving gives regular averages of 36 mph and 67 mpg.
I have made a number of trips to Southern England, doing most of my driving early morning to avoid delays. A typical round trip of 650 miles (90% motorway) giving averages of 69 mph and 61 mpg
Lest you think I pussyfoot around, I had to replace a 4 Continental tyres at 12,500 miles, I guess the road surfaces on North Lancs roads are abrasive...
Renault expect the Clio to return 67 mpg overall, but as I recall the long term test results in Diesel Car show consuption of their Clio to be mid 50's. Are the DC drivers thrashing their Clio, day in day out, or are the Renault figures overly optimistic? Either way I am more than happy with my Clio with the Tunit fitted.
You may recall that my Clio was the first 80 bhp you had worked on and the Tunit was tuned to give maximum performance through the gears, rolling road tested at 103bhp.
Once again thank you for your superb after sales customer service.
Saab
Recieved 26th Aug 2005 via email, Saab 9-3
Hi Adam,
Just to say thanks for looking after me today, I
thought the service was excellent, both in terms of the package (how
easy it was to book my car in, how quickly the work was completed, the
road test/instruction and of course the unit itself) and indeed how
pleasant and professional everyone I spoke to was.
Of course the real important thing to me is the product
itself, I had obviously expected to see an improvement in performance
based on what I had read on your website and indeed the various Saab forums
I visit on the internet, however I can honestly say I got a bit of a shock
when we went out on the test drive. At certain points in the range it
really doesn’t feel like my car, there is a very clear surge of
power from 3,000 rpm upwards which feels great! Had a very good run back
down to Nuneaton, and really got to see what a difference it has made
on the toll road! I am looking forward to learning the limits of my car
all over again, I can honestly say that it feels like a new car altogether!
Too early to say what the fuel consumption will be
like, but given that I have been driving the car with real ‘spirit’ since
the unit was fitted and the estimate on my fuel computer I think it will
be at least comparible than it was prior to the Tunit being fitted.
Would not delay in recommending you product or service
to anyone, and I now hope to persuade my Dad to get his 530d done!
Thanks for a great service
Tim
SEAT
This comment from Plug, SEAT Alhambra TDI 110
Fitted to a Seat Alhambra TDI 110 at 66000mls with a K&N filter. It now pulls from 1600rpm and will rev to 5000 (power tails off from 4000) Power is up to 141bhp and 221 lb/ft, best mpg 54 taking it easy at about 60mph.Worst mpg 21 flat out at 110-120mph (autobahn). Average 42mpg overall, only after an initial showing off phase which can last quite a few months.
A drawback is front tyre wear and if the road is wet the front tyres will spin easily in first and sometimes second. Now with 81000mls there have been no defects resulting from the tuning unit. Smiles per miles it`s worth it .

Hi John
Received chip for Martins car and installed it in 5 minutes.
Was extremely impressed with the improved power and torque.
Martins son and myself both picked up new 2.0 tdi Golfs today
so I imagine you will be getting an order for another 2 in the not to distant
future.
Thanks again very impressed with the chip and service you

From Hazel, via email 27/5/03, VW Passat
Well, words can't describe it. I think that I said to you that I never expected to change my other Passat and this one was in fact a most unexpected present (some present!!) and I bought the tunit, which makes the car absolutely stunning. It is such a wonderful combination of power, torque and flexibilty; I find it breathtaking - as do all passengers to date. I can hardly wait to see how it performs with the caravan when I set out tomorrow. I will send you a postcard from Provence to let you know what the verdict is, but I know that it will be superb. I have always loved cars, but have never driven anything like this. I just can't thank you enough

From Mark Illingworth from CPI Moto, via email - June 30th 2004
Morning Adam
Just a quick note to say that I fitted the tunit over the weekend and the results are excellent.
The smooth quality original characteristics have not altered at all, however the acceleration is much stronger and longer
I have not been on the motorway yet so not sure what the MPG will be like
Thanks for all your help

I'm picking up my Vento this week. I had already planned on doing the
CAI setup, a front-mount (probably from a volvo), the 11mm
pump, and the
t-4 multivan .260 injectors. It seems that your comprehensive
project-X lies
along the same lines. Are there any distributors for your
products or
services in the US? I'm really appreciative of all the hard
work that's
gone into your thoughtful and informative web-page.

"20th Jan 2002, 16:47 I have a 2000 Vectra LS DI saloon, with 24,000
miles on it. The engine in my car is very similar to the DTI engine. My
engine, even at 24,000 miles still drinks about half a litre per 1K miles...
similar consumption to yours. Some people who own cars with the same engine
claim that oil consumption virtually diminished to nothing about about
15K miles... I am still waiting, but overall it is a good engine!
Do you know how they fixed the rattle from the seatbelt area? My car
also has a similar rattle from that area! (I figure many trim bits will
be of a similar design on my car?).
I had my engine fitted with a 'Bromleys' tuning unit, goes like a rocket
now, with slightly better economy to boot. See www.bromleystuning.com
One other point, the turbo boost supply pipe popped off the inlet manifold
the other day, a common fault I am told. Make sure the jubilee clip which
secures the rubber pipe is secured properly to the manifold at the front
of the engine.
